Kyrgyz Portraits: Chong-Apa

Chong-Apa, in Kyrgyz, literally means “Big Mother.” This is my host grandmother making borsok, Kyrgyzstan’s favorite form of bread. (Because it is deep-fried.) It is literally like eating beignets along with your meal, and I plan on perfecting it before I end my service.
